Mary and DavidMary Eule Scarborough is an award-winning speaker, writer, and certified Guerrilla Marketing coach who weaves humor throughout her practical, plain-speaking advice.  She draws upon her real-life experiences as a Fortune 500 marketing executive; founder of two successful small businesses; and independent strategic marketing consultant to aid companies, organizations, and non-profits both nationally and internationally.

She and her husband, David, are the authors of “The Procrastinator’s Guide to Marketing” (November, 2007, Entrepreneur Press).  Additionally, Ms. Scarborough recently co-authored (along with Mitch Meyerson, the founder of the Guerrilla Marketing Coaching Certification Program) the soon-to-be-published book, “Mastering Online Marketing” (January, 2008).  She continues to write marketing articles for many online publications and this website.

One of six children, Mary was raised in a small Connecticut town before leaving for the Washington, DC metropolitan area to attend school. Among others, she credits her parents, four brothers, and sister for helping her develop a keen sense of humor, high regard for family, intellectual curiosity, work ethic, competitive spirit, and “thick skin.”

Mary received her undergraduate degree in Journalism and English from the University of Maryland and earned her master’s degree in marketing from The Johns Hopkins University.

David A. Scarborough,
a gifted business leader, writer, educator and speaker has had the opportunity to use his expertise in business, finance, economics and strategic marketing to help entrepreneurs grow and maintain healthy businesses. He draws upon his real-life experiences as a business and marketing professor; founder of two successful small businesses; certified Guerrilla Marketing coach and an independent strategic marketing consultant to aid companies, organizations, and non-profits both nationally and internationally.

David, and his sister, Doris, were born and raised near Detroit, Michigan by two loving parents, Rita and Joe Scarborough.  After graduating from high school, he left home to enlist in the military. He served his country as an officer, aviator and ROTC professor for the US Air Force for many years before retiring in 1991. Although David maintains his certification as a private flight instructor, he acknowledges that he has little time these days to devote to this hobby.

Additionally, he and his wife, Mary, are authors of “The Procrastinator’s Guide to Marketing” (November, 2007, Entrepreneur Press). He continues to write marketing articles for many online publications and this website.

He received his bachelor’s degree in aviation from Western Michigan University and MBA from Golden Gate University.

The Scarboroughs: Their Life Together

Currently, David and Mary split their time between their two homes in Charleston, South Carolina and western North Carolina . They plan on relocating to a new home near Phoenix, Arizona  but plan on spending summers in their cool mountain retreat in the North Carolina.  They  feel fortunate that they’ve succeeded in developing  a thriving business which allows them to do what they love – share their passion for marketing with their readers, seminar students, conference audiences, and others – and still enjoy their individual and collective hobbies and make time for each other, their children, granddaughter, extended famiy members and friends.
